Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy (CST)

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a method or a technique where the therapist connects or tunes in to the system of the patient, just with a considerate touch. There is no manipulation from the therapist.

CST is an integrated treatment, in which the therapist works with a careful, non-invasive hands-on technique. The therapist gently works with the whole body, including the Central Nervous System. Using their hands as their fine tools; he/she can detect disturbance, illness or traumas in the body system, and works to release it or to support the bodies self- healing process.

Who's it for?

People may come for CST because they have acute physical problems like headaches or back pain, or long-standing problems both physical and emotional. Others come for ongoing support in their busy lives and for help to meet life's challenges. Because it is so gentle and non-invasive, CST is suitable for everyone from newborns to the elderly.

During a session

Your practitioner will take a written case history, listening with care to the reasons for your visit. This part of the session is important, both for gathering information and establishing a good understanding with your practitioner. The session typically lasts for an hour, although this can vary. You remain clothed and will usually lie face up or on your side The practitioner makes light contact with your head, the base of your spine and other areas, encouraging your body to relax and begin to make the changes it needs. Because the body functions as a whole your practitioner may focus on areas other than where your symptoms occur.

After a session

After a session, there is occasionally a short period of adjustment as part of the healing process, where you may become more aware of symptoms. Sometimes people report relief after only one or two sessions. For long-standing problems, further sessions may be required. Some people find they benefit from regular treatment over an extended period of time and say that as well as noticing improvements in their physical or emotional symptoms, they feel that they have more awareness of their own needs and strengths, and their quality of life has improved.

Pregnancy, Newborns, Babies and Children

Not only does CST provide stress relief for pregnant mothers, but is good for the baby too. Research has shown that the stress levels experienced by the mother can affect the unborn baby. Generally, the more relaxed the mother is in the pregnancy, the more relaxed the birth is likely to be. Pregnant women mat come to CST for:

  • Minor pregnancy ailments such as back pain

  • Balancing effects on nervous and hormonal systems

  • Support for both mother and baby

  • Preparing for birth

Newborns and Babies

CST can benefit newborns by reducing birth trauma shock and influence behaviours such as infant latching and feeding, this is correcting innate disconnects and bodily imbalances before they have any chance to cause harm.

Children of all ages can benefit from Craniosacral Therapy. CST is a nurturing and calming approach to childhood healthcare. Many common behavioural, social and learning difficulties respond well to Craniosacral Therapy. The treatment process is gentle and tailored to the physical and emotional needs of the individual child. CST can often be beneficial for difficulties with social behvaiour, that may be reprewith children can help with: ADD/ADHD,

Stress, Insomnia and Trauma

Stress is unavoidable in today's busy world and our bodies are designed to manage a certain amount of this stimulation. Sometimes though, we can become overwhelmed and unable to cope with life's demands. Extended periods of stress can start to produce symptoms which have an impact on our daily life and can result in serious illness. CST is a natural way of helping our bodies to rest and recover. CST is unique in its ability to treat the source of symptoms on every level, whether mental, physical or emotional. For the best results, a series of treatments is recommended.

Research also indicates CST may be effective for those clients who experience dissociation as a symptom of PTSD allowing these clients to experience a more coherent sense of self, which for some is a primary reason they initially seek out CST. There are aspects of CST, too, that appear to provide some unique benefits to clients with PTSD mainly giving these clients a feeling of comfort, safety and control they often can’t achieve on their own. During or after a session you may feel calm and energised, with increased clarity of mind and a feeling of well-being.

Injuries, Aches and Pains

CST supports your body’s innate ability to balance, restore and heal itself, as well as helping to reduce stress and build your underlying energy. The practitioner senses tensions in the body and helps to release them in a supported and comfortable way. This release is able to alleviate aches and pains around the body. This can work for both new and ailments, as CST can redirect the bodies self-regeneration factors to areas which may have just become normalised, even though they are painful or sore. This also works soon after an injury to support and increase the healing.

Distant Craniosacral Therapy

Distant Cranio-Sacral Therapy is a precious resource at all times. However, it is particularly valuable during the current Coronavirus pandemic, with widespread isolation, uncertainty, insecurity, anxiety, and many other difficulties, and limited access to therapists and hands-on therapy, providing highly effective and much needed support during this time of social distancing.

How does it work?

Zero Point Energy Field
The Zero Point Field is a limitless matrix, or field of energy, in the form of waves and particles that come in and out of existence all the time, by arising from Zero Point. According to quantum theory, it is the act of measuring, i.e. of observation that brings quanta (particles/waves) into existence. It is, therefore, our consciousness wherever we take our attention, that allows energy to come into form – qi, or energy flows where the mind goes.

Quantum Entanglement

When you think about Quantum Physics or Quantum Entanglement, than there is the ability of one particle to influence another independent of time and space. We know that everything in the universe is connected with each other, and when we tune in at a distance, our connection is non-local, i.e. it doesn’t have a location in space; we are connecting with the entire field through our body, our receiver.

Distant Craniosacral Therapy – applying usual Craniosacral principles
So, we’re working distantly, but in actual fact, there is no distance - in effect, it’s all happening inside us. With Distant CST, we are not attempting to send anyone energy, but rather we are tuning in and engaging in the same way as if we were placing our hands on our client, the only difference being that we are working with the energetic body rather than with physical touch. So we will be applying all of our usual Craniosacral principles, as we would do when a client is lying on the couch right in the front of us.

The Benefit of CST Distance Healing
Very often in our stressful life, we can’t find the time to go for a very much-needed treatment and especially in this time of the Coronavirus pandemic, many people suffering from isolation, uncertainty, insecurity, anxiety and many other physical problems. They are seeking help, but there is no time, or it’s not safe to go out and to see a Therapist.
With CST distance healing, you can get the Craniosacral treatment in the safety of your own home. The therapist is with you on the computer, over Skype or Zoom or on the telephone.
And after the treatment, you can relax at home and let the therapy integrate, and the self-healing process can do its work, without you have to get up and go or drive home.
